Set of 2 riso-prints on newsprint

These prints try to unpack the etymological root of the word “member”, which refers to the male phallus. Central to the activities and funding strategies of many cultural institutions and museums (eg. extract from Tate London website), the idea of the membership implies both dynamics of inclusion and exclusion. The term also bears strong social and gender-related contradictions inherent to its masculine implications.
