You need class
London, 2019

23 x 20 xm
Oil and charcoal on plastic and tracing paper, in an aluminium frame

Revolution, according to Marx, requires class conflict and the overcoming of bourgeoise privilege. This small vintage drawing was found in a flea market in London and represents the stereotype of a domestic scene in a middle-class family. The juxtaposed text creates a short-circuit around the concept of class, that may be superficially understood as a matter of manner.
